Mark Matthijetz moved to Precinct 1 of Lee County when he was just five years old, his family moved there to farm. They successfully did so, with raising grain, peanuts, and cattle, until he was in his twenties. During his twenties, he met and married his wife of 26 years and took a job with Cargill and has worked there ever since he has also served as a Safety Representative within the company for years. Mark and his wife have three children, Shelby, Shawn, and Samantha, a son-in-law Bryce, and one grandson, Bayne. Mark and his family are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings, Texas. Mark has served his community in a variety of ways including, Member of the Dimebox Youth Supporters Club, Member of the Dimebox Sportsman Club, Active Member of the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department for 9 years, Director of the Lee County Wildlife Association for 5 years, and has served as Treasurer for the Lee County Wildlife Association for 3 years. Ever since he was young, Mark has firmly believed in conservative ideologies, and has stayed as a hardworking individual. He believes that the children of Lee County are the future of Lee County and the world, and because of that we must protect them in every way possible and that includes adding more safety measures to roads. Mark also believes in local governments working for the citizens and putting safety above all else. As your next Commissioner, Mark will put safety, transparency, and the children of Lee County above all else.
